Basic concept[]
Schicksal is an organization established in the 7th century to study the nature of Houkai and fight against it. In the long-term development, Schicksal organizational structure comes with three major families (Apokalypse, Kaslana, and Schariac) as the core has gradually formed. In order to fight the Houkai, Schicksal has established strongholds around the world to observe. This organization is hidden in the shadow of the modern society and is invisible to the world.
Establishment of Schicksal[]
- The founder of Schicksal is currently unknown.
- The purpose of Schicksal is to suppress and eliminate Houkai.
- Around the 7th century, a secret group was established with the goal of suppressing and eliminating Houkai.
- In the 14th century, a secret organization headed by the Apokalypse family was formed.
- After the second Great Houkai, Schicksal established the Saint Freya Academy in the Far East to train the Valkyrie.
Structure of Schicksal[]
The Kaslana Family[]
The family who administers the role of the “Knight”, are mainly responsible for protecting Schicksal and fighting the Houkai army.
The contemporary Patriarch is Siegfried Kaslana. The Kaslana family has a strong adaptability to Houkai, so it also serves many dangerous Houkai area combat missions. The members of the Kaslana family advocate force and have a clear class, which ensures that they have enough strength to defend the safety of Schicksal.
The Schariac Family[]
The family who administers the role of the “Priestess”, responsible to seal the Houkai.
The female members of the Schariac family are regarded as saints. The saints have the ability to control the Houkai, so they can use the Houkai energy to strengthen themselves, but the Houkai manipulation abilities also comes at a price. The fate of the saints is to be corroded and eventually lost their life.
The Apokalypse Family[]
The family who administers the role of the “Bishop” role, the main responsibility is to manage Schicksal and formulate a plan to fight against the Houkai. The contemporary Patriarch is Theresa Apokalypse.
Apokalypse means apocalypse in German. As the leading family of the Schicksal Organization, the Apokalypse family has always been covered with a veil of mystery in history.
Valkyrie[]
Valkyries were actually ordinary girls before they became Valkyries. These girls were recruited by the Schicksal and undergo rigorous training and selection tests to become female warriors against the Houkai. However, there is also news that the Valkyrie is actually an artificially-made warrior through the transformation of the human body carried out by Schicksal. Their bodies will be greatly eroded and are an incomplete test product.
Snow Wolf Squad[]

The Valkyrie squad formed by Saint Cecilia Schariac of the Schicksal family, selected the most outstanding Valkyrie warriors in the Schicksal Force as its members, is the most powerful weapon of Schicksal.
- In Retrospective chapter, the Snow Wolf squad was killed in the second Great Houkai by the Second Herrscher.
- In Newborn chapter, the squad were not killed after the Second Great Houkai as Sirin absorbed the nuke and later disbanded.

5th Valkyrie Squad[]

In the Retrospective chapter, it belongs directly to Theresa, the Valkyrie squad led by Murata Himeko. Its members are Kiana Kaslana, Raiden Mei and Bronya Zaychik. At present, the team use Hyperion to perform missions in the Houkai areas around the world, and has outstanding combat achievements.

- In Newborn chapter, Kiana and Mei were captured early by Anti-Entropy so the only squad members are Himeko and Theresa.
The squad comes with unique vehicle: Hyperion
"Meteor" Squad[]
"Meteor" is an elite squad mentioned in The Moment of Shining Light comic. In a mission, Mushoku Kika was framed by the members of the "Meteor" squad, which led to the mission failure. As a result, she was disqualified and expelled from the squad.
13th Valkyrie Squad[]
13th "Crane Tail" Valkyrie Squad was originally a squad of 8 Valkyries with the leader as Elsa Lopez, later was promoted to Elite squad and gained "Glow" title after Kika joined. Mushoku Kika was the 9th member recently joined and the last standing member in the squad before the entire squad was wiped out by Delta. The squad was disbanded later, Kika being a lone wolf and Elsa's body have been experimented for the Artificial Herrscher project under Kika and Otto's agreement.

"Theocracy" squad[]
"Theocracy" squad is a unique squad only consist of 5 Artificial Herrscher, can be considered as the strongest squad ever recorded in the Schicksal but extremely dangerous since the Herrscher Cores can erode all members of this squad.
- The Herrscher Cores used by the squad are from the 5th Herrscher.
Squad members: Captain Kallen Kaslana, Elsa Lopez (after resurrected), Seruti (KIA), Flora and Angelia Schariac (KIA)
St. Freya Academy[]

St. Freya Academy is a school founded by the Schicksal to fight against Houkai. Its purpose is to cultivate Valkyries who can fight against the Houkai. St. Freya Academy is located in the Far East. In Retrospective chapter, Theresa Apokalypse serves as the principal of the school.
In the Newborn chapter, the school was managed by Cecilia Schariac as the principal, but Otto dismissed Cecilia's plan and let Theresa take over. However, as soon as Theresa took over, St. Freya Academy was bombarded by the main artillery of the Brilliant Covenant, and it is now in ruins.
St. Freya Cathedral[]
Located in the center of St. Freya Academy, it is also Theresa's favorite place to stay. Students often witnessed her praying in the church. It is rumored that there is a "dogmatic district" under the cathedral, and was heavily guarded.
Dogmatic district[]
The secret area at the bottom of the Basilica of St. Freya's Academy has the highest level of security, and is under the direct jurisdiction of the highest-level Schicksal. It actually preserves the remains and core of the second Herrscher, which is also the foundation of the establishment of St. Freya Academy.
